Before heading into crunch time, Derrick Walton Jr. was struggling. He was 0-9 and was 0-6 shooting from downtown. Then came the final two minutes. Walton scored an important 6 points, highlighted by an amazing layup plus the harm.
Zak Irvin picked up the slack scoring 22 points, and finally Star guard Caris LeVert finally returned to action but only played 11 minutes.
Let’s hope that this will be a stepping stone for the boys in blue, and a long run in the BIG 10, and hopefully the NCAA Tournament.
